Season three, mid-season. Complete Character Description: It would be very easy to underestimate Faith, purely based on her looks. She is short, slender, and has large brown eyes that could easily be mistaken for innocent, at least at very first glance. A more careful observer might notice that her long brown hair is always messed up, tangled, and there's a sort of cynical depth to those brown eyes, and to the set of her mouth, that doesn't fit with the naive look at all. Her makeup is always bold, distinctive, just like her. As a Slayer, she doesn't often wear dresses, as they are not practical. She prefers jeans, although she has also been known to wear other things, like cargo pants or commonly, ones made of leather. She invariably wears revealing tops, and though her clothes are always practical, they are also always very revealing and as sexual as she can possibly get away with. She has never been accused of being shy, and her clothing is certainly anything but demure. Although she is not remotely religious, she is never without a cross that she either wears around her neck on a chain or slips into her pocket. This was a present from her mother when she was a child, but also is quite useful when she is fighting vampires. She also usually has a wooden stake on her, since you never can tell when the undead will attack. She has a black tattoo, sort of a tribal Celtic design, on her left arm. Personality: Faith is pretty much the most ironic name you could pick for her, as she has long ago lost her faith in anyone or anything. Skeptical of everyone, she keeps people at a distance emotionally, and rarely, if ever, actually opens up to anyone. She has gotten quite good at hiding anything she may be feeling behind a facade, and most people are easily convinced by her act. Inside, she is deeply hurting, but you would never know it to look at her. Reckless, uncaring of consequences, she often gets herself into trouble. She doesn't mind, though, probably because she enjoys so much the process of getting herself back out of trouble again. Although she is very demonstrative of physical affection in all ways, it is empty and hollow, because she never lets herself really feel anything deeper than on a surface level. She is promiscuous, and always becomes sexually aroused while fighting, especially if she is not allowed to kill her target. Background: Although Faith would prefer to be mysterious about her origins and never talks about them, she does, of course, have a past. Born to an intensely Christian mother and a alcoholic father, Faith was named by a mother who hoped that the name would rub off on her daughter and give her something to believe in in life. Her mother was a waitress, who worked double shifts in order to support her small family. Her father never worked, and while she was still very young, Faith came to know that her father was not a man who could be counted on, or even someone she wished to spend much time around. She avoided him and clung, instead, to the mother who was never around. Despite her home life, which was full of emotional abuse from her father whenever he could corner her, Faith was a decent student throughout grade school. She worked hard and was fairly popular with the other children. Though she never dared bring any of her friends home due to her verbally abusive and unpredictable father, she went over to their houses often, and there had a glimpse into a very different world that filled her with a sense of vague longing, though she never admitted it. Although she had many friends that she spent a lot of time with, she never really truly bonded with anyone. She always remained close to her mother, as much as possible, since the hard-working woman was the only thing she felt she could truly count on. Everything changed very suddenly one night, when the brunette was 17 years old, just before her 18th birthday on the year she was set to graduate high school. There was a knock on the door of her parents trailer park home in North Carolina, and at the same time as a very proper British man was introducing himself, a vampire burst through the window and attacked her mother. Without thinking, Faith grabbed a nearby chair, easily broke it to pieces, and with a long, sharp piece of it, stabbed the vampire through the heart. It was her awakening as a Slayer, and the end of her life as she knew it. Her mother, believing her child to have been possessed by the devil and refusing to have anything more to do with her, kicked her out of the house. She had no choice but to leave with the British man, William Price, who was to be her trainer in her new powers, her Watcher. She dropped out of high school mere months before she was to graduate in order to train in her new abilities, and because she couldn't handle being around her old life any longer. Gradually, tales came to her of another Slayer, another chosen one who had the same powers she did. Buffy, her name was, and she lived in California. It didn't seriously occur to her to go meet this girl until after her Watcher was attacked, and killed, by a savage, powerful vampire that she couldn't hope to beat, named Kakistos. Soundly beaten, she had no choice but to flee, and only one place came to mind for where to go. So, she came to Sunnydale, met Buffy and her friends, and tried very hard to fit in. Initially, she charmed them all, except for the other Slayer, who remained skeptical about her. Together, however, her and Buffy were able to beat many opponents much more easily than they could have separately. Then, one night, Faith tried to convince Buffy that she needed to loosen up a little, and promised to show her the 'fun side' of slaying. Buffy agreed, and for once didn't try to derail Faith's blood lust. In the height of her slaying frenzy, Faith stabbed a human through the heart, thinking he was a vampire. As she stared down in horror at the body that stubbornly refused to turn to dust, and knew exactly what she had just done, she was suddenly yanked from her world, to a different time and place, with the full knowledge of the fact that she was, in fact, a murderer. Weaknesses: Afraid of being dependant on others, she doesn't have many close friends or anyone she's close to, really. She can be mean to people to drive them away, and her attitude often leaves much to be desired. She is also very unethical, and does pretty much anything to get what she wants. She lacks discipline and control, and very easily enters into a state of blood lust when fighting. Strengths: She's very determined and this makes her almost unstoppable, when she's properly motivated. She has a lot of energy and is quite compelling, despite her obvious flaws. In general, people tend to be fascinated with her, and she is often quite good at getting people to do whatever she wants. Likes: Heavy metal, fast food, dark clothing, slaying vampires, sex Dislikes: Pretty much all vegetables, clingy people, pop music, being told what to do Talents and Hobbies: Being a Slayer, she has superhuman strength, agility, and reflexes. She also has the ability to heal rapidly, and on occasion, she has dreams that tell the future. She is a skilled fighter, having spend lots of time practicing even above and beyond her natural abilities. She lived life on the streets, and so has some thieving abilities, as well, such as picking pockets, hotwiring cars, and such.
